Bits of Rotten Wordplay

curdled whisper
slowly dissolving  on the
tongue as fear
wells into the air a
mistranslation of emotion
being certain as to
why

Why?

reaching your ears
a dead thing
crawling struggling through
the cave
leaving bits of rotten
wordplay scattered
clogging the
meaning as to
why

Why?

and the eyes
God the eyes striking
down the notion
of a peace within
flaying that last bit
that only bit of hope left
in the mind's eye God
the eyes
why

Why?

try why try
when air you're breathing
is poison to you know
that now
why try when
swimming through
leaves leeches now
on your skin
tearing out the essence
why try
why

Why?

  1. very abstract, and the repetition of "why" is intriguing because I am left wondering if "why" is a rotten word.

  2. why can be a rotten word. we ask so much for explaination instead of accepting and moving on. with that same thought, we often do not look into things enough before leaping in. exsist a medium?

the place ment of God and eyes is intriguing.
